Atlantis III: The New World

Postby velocity88 » Sun Feb 11, 2018 6:45 pm

Hows about this? From an old Myst-like point-and-click puzzle game. First at around 16:40, and immediately after you get the clever choice of following the sabertooth's footsteps just to see what happens  . Poor sabertooth.

Never know when your going to run into an obscure scene, do you?

Great find indeed! However, you could have shown the female sinking into the quicksand than just having her stumble, and just see her hand go under!

Yeah... I wish the game did that. But I salute the idea. Plus, the sound made when the saber tooth fell in was cool.

I'm sure that was a canned scene and not something you can control the camera view of. Too bad.

Is that the only patch of QS in the game?

That was quite a find. Considering the age of the game (2001), the environment is well rendered. The scene is subtle and leaves a lot to the imagination, considering that it's a "dead end" cut scene. I do like the juxtaposition of the saber-tooth tiger's fate and the player-character's fate if they walk into the same area.

Very nice, yeah I also wish they would've shown more of the woman sinking. Especially in that outfit :3
