Re: COMBAT: Episode- "A Sudden Terror"
I remember watching this long scene live on its first telecast (I watched Combat every week on Tuesdays, religiously, as a kid). I really didn’t yet fully understand the impact quicksand scenes had on me, only that they left me scared and breathless. This one was really scary to me, until Lt. Hanley rescued the soldier at the end. It was several years later (puberty) that I put together that it wasn’t just quicksand - it was women in quicksand that I was fixated upon. But this Combat episode was one of the key events in developing my self understanding. Good nostalgic post.

You got it. Just like that.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.
