Seeing the clip of Vampiric Swamp that's in Sinisistar 2, I really wasn't convinced of that level's quicksand. It looked more like muddy water than actual quicksand. Sure, the player character can sink in it, but there were no bubbles on the surface or unique sound effects. The character doesn't even have unique animations for how far she's sunk in the stuff.
I really wish more 2D games that have quicksand hazards use the code MrBlackGoo used for the quicksand in that Slack of Descent mod. That was certainly the best kind of video game quicksand mechanics I've ever seen.

I have heard rumors that RuneScape dragon wilds has quicksand in the desert level. I can not find video and I am slowly playing through the game to get to that level and see.

From what I've seen, there's a moat around a town, but it's waist-deep. Found a vid of someone wading in it while explaining the heat mechanic. He mentions the quicksand again at 9:20 when talking about the magic carpet.
