Mud_Duck beat you to it by 27 minuets in the General Discussion forum but thanks for passing it along and making the effort.

It's not a bad article when he is talking about the community but gets long in his discussion about the frequency of quicksand in mainstream movies. (six pages..get a cup of coffee before starting to read it.)

Yea, it rambles a bit.

But overall, it's a good read that probably has something 'new' for everyone as far as thought lines go.

I thought for a moment he was tempted to link the decline in mainstream scenes with the inception of the online community, but I don't believe there's a real connection there. The "It's become cliche' " argument is probably the strongest. I expressed to him that I thought quicksand scenes were not kinetic enough (too slow and not enough explosions) for current movie audiences. Quicksand scenes are generally long. Maybe that's why they still pop up in soaps. They're good for 'minutes'.

Since there are two threads on this I'll very briefly repeat what I said in the other one. I found the article interesting but rather dated with respect to our community.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Hey thanks for posting the article. It's always fun to see references to quicksand pop up like that.

Hey! I know those guys!

Nice, candid article. Need to spread this one around...
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
