I saw it when I was a kid. It was a local comedy show made by high school students. The guy playing Tarzan went on to have a very successful career in Hollywood as a writer and producer.

It was silly and watery. If I remember correctly, the whole thing picked up with him already stuck in the quicksand, like an old serial that you missed the previous episode of. He calls his elephant friend, and that ridiculous fake trunk flops down and pulls him out. I don't remember anyone else being stuck with him, though. Those might have just been behind-the-scenes photos of material that was cut. I've looked on YouTube for the scene, but so far, it hasn't been posted.

Here is a black and white photo I took of our heroes being rescued by a friendly elephant. Not a good shot of the quicksand, though.
