Wow. I have long read the description of the deleted scene: George is awakened from a nap to go find Ursula deep in quicksand - he jumps in and brings her out on his shoulders. Finally I get to see a glimpse of what it looked like. Thanks for posting. It doesn’t sound, though, like there was any plan to show a sinking-in sequence, which is a shame if true. A sinking scene with actress Leslie Mann would have been pretty nice.

Sorry I missed this until now. Yes, definitely an early AI work of mine. It's bears an MPV Intelligence watermark and the only place you should have found it was in a forum dedicated to AI. It's a good example of how we're going to have to be more careful about such things in the future. I tend to present things as though they will always be displayed only in AI related venues and everyone will know my descriptions are kind of playful.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

If I remember right this was actually in the Disney Channel Newsletter we used to get. I later heard the scene described as George and Ape are awakened from a nap by Ursula screaming and run to the scene as she is going under in quicksand. In true Saturday morning Jay Ward fashion, George rapidly appears with a diving mask and goes in after her. They both disappear and after a few moments and emerge with Ursula on George's shoulders.
