Cool scene - these are my favorite kinds of scene as well - quicksand as grim justice! I wish they would have done couple of more panels of him sinking to his doom, but not bad nonetheless. Again, thanks for sharing it!

You're welcome.
Now, here a gem I discovered over at another blog... it's a back up feature in Green Hornet comics from 1945. Love the title of the story, and the scenes are pretty good. The blonde lady doesn't end up in the quicksand, alas, but still gets involved.
I tossed in this comic panel from another comic, just because... If anyone knows more about it, let us know.

Oh tosh! Tanya retorted, quicksand churning,
Round her knees, then thighs, then oh dear!
It got intimate with her hips and her panties,
And squished rather funnily up her rear!

Re: Yet More Comic Book Sinking Scenes
Here's some more odds and ends of comic art. The cover of Our Fighting Forces 101 refers to a story inside called "The Killer of Vietnam!" apparently does have a quicksand scene, where the VC have tossed some GI into the bog and are watching him sink. The hero and his Vietnamese lady friend pull him out of the quicksand. I don't have the pages of the story, alas, but the cover is cool.
The page called Steve is from an old comic from the late 30's, early 40s which apparently has no real resolution, nor any surviving pages leading up to it, at least none I can find. So, kind of the world's most frustrating comic scene... except maybe for this next one...
From Adam Strange. His wife realizes he is going to teleport into quicksand, so she covers it up. Dang!
Then there's Swamp thing who rescues a dog from quicksand, only to lose his wife as a result...
And a British robot discovers the Grimpen Mire...
