Thanks for the info, Schlamm. The closest I've got here is the classic quaking bog. I've been jumping up an' down pretty hard on a good solid grassy surface and watched very slow ripples spread out in all directions. I don't know how thick the vegetation is , but I reckon you could drive over it. Step on the raw peat and you sink straight away. The very worst stuff is covering deep water. If you do go through it, not only is it always very cold, but nearly impossible to get out of the tangle of roots and stuff around your legs.
