Hi everyone! some years ago this video was posted here... or maybe in DeepSinking Forum... I don't remember... enjoy!

To the producers: Anyone can tell me how to make this pit and this sinking effect in a video?

Thanks!

Not bad! Nice quicksand.

Must be that good old midwestern American-talking area of Scotland, though.

Based on my experience this summer with the new pit, I have a pretty good idea how the pit was made. Perhaps next season I'll try to make a new one similar to what's in this video.

I was wondering a couple of things, seeing the trailers and that behind the scenes video, how deep is that quicksand pit you made? And did you make it on private land? It looks very like public forests near where I live, and I now have visions of unsuspecting walkers blundering into it after you've finished

Note: can also imagine signs up saying 'Video Producers! Think safe! Please take your quicksand pits home with you!' (Oh, I wish, I do so wish...)

My latest pit was dug on private property. It is waist deep. I lined it with heavy rubber, so it wouldn't leak. Filled it with brown pottery clay, added some ground cork and a bag or two of peat, then mixed. Added some leaves & dry dirt to the top to make it blend in better.

Wow, you make it sound so easy, almost like following a cookery recipe!

Now I just need a decent amount of private land... :?
