This young lady wasn't afraid to go into a bog herself to rescue a lost sheep. And it wasn't even her sheep.

This sounds like the beginning of a great joke... with whiskey being in the punchline.

Fantastic find, thank you! Been there twice, once for a month, it is a spectacular and unforgettable place. Donegal and parts of Wicklow have bogs like this and tundra-looking terrain that seems more suited for the Arctic or another planet than lovely green Ireland. Of course, those were my favorite places, the surreal landscape and the stones. The endless ancient stones.
There is so much potential for our favorite kinds of scenes on that gorgeous island.

Am able to say I have twice rescued sheep from mud One was in an Exmoor bog & it was simply a question of walking out to it ,dragging it out of the moss & carrying it to firm ground-easy!
Rescuing one from a mud, quicksand at a ball clay quarry was a very different matter I was exploring the quarry (Lee Moor) for interesting mud,saw a notice reading "danger quicksand"& found it contained a very stuck sheep I managed to get out to it & got its front legs up out of the mud but any attempt to drag it out sent me down into the mud somewhere between thigh & waist deep each time While that was fun it was not helping the sheep much. I went off & found a bit of rope which I looped around its legs & managed to pull it to the bank It was unable to stand at first but by the time I was halfway through playing in the mud I saw it get up & walk away You could say double the satisfaction lol

I've always thought the scenario shown in the video would make for a good damsel in distress storyline... A woman trudges out into the mud to rescue a stuck sheep. As she struggles to free the animal, she doesn't realize that her efforts to save the sheep are working her legs into the thick mud. When she finally frees the animal and watches it dash away, she tries moving towards firmer ground, but can't... looking down, she finds herself stuck calf-deep to thigh-deep in the mud and slowly sinking into the same trap that she just rescued the sheep from.
Thanks for sharing!

As always, I love the way you think, Waterbug!
