Thanks, evilhenchman03!
I tried to run the text of the comic through various translators, and some worked better than others. This is what I got from http://www.frengly.com/ :
There are a number of interesting comics on the aformentioned French website http://chezpapy.skynetblogs.be/archive-month/2009-03 , as well as animated gif's.
I think Nessie will love this one!

Whatever they say, to the horse, nothing better than a horse!
Go, proud steed! Jump!
But ...
Help! Help! We sink into the mud!
Wait, I'll draw it!
I say no, but it's still a bit far, no?
NGMMFFF!
It is not! Usually when I shoot it as it comes!
And if I withdrew the foot of the stirrups, it would help?

[It's been well said that there's nothing better than a horse]

Help! Help! We sink into the mud!
[We are sinking...]
Wait, I'll draw it!
[Wait - I'll get you out of there]
I say no, but it's still a bit far, no?
[I wouldn't say no but...]
NGMMFFF!
It is not! Usually when I shoot it as it comes!
[it's not working. Usually when I pull like this, it works.]
And if I withdrew the foot of the stirrups, it would help?
[And if I took my feet out of the stirrups, would that help?]
Tirer is a much-used French verb with a variety of meanings. It basically means "Pull." It can mean "Fire" in the sense that French soldiers are ordered "Tirez" as in "Pull the trigger."
It seems that translation programmes have a long way to go....
