Possible F QS scene in Jamestown on Sky1

Postby MichaelL_Photo » Mon May 08, 2017 6:07 pm

Hello Folks,

I was reading this news article on the new show, Jamestown, shown on Sky1. It mentions, near the bottom, that a female character, Verity, is involved in quicksand:

http://www.irishtimes.com/culture/tv-ra ... -1.3072842

I did go to YouTube, but only found the trailer (https://youtu.be/2tK5q3iles0 ) but that trailer has NOTHING to show a quicksand scene.

So, did anyone see this show? Does it indeed have a female quicksand scene?

Thanks.

Mike

It's in the first episode. The "quicksand" is the muddy bottom of some wetlands. She goes down quickly to about her waist in the water, and then struggles for several seconds until another lass come and pulls her out. Kinda cool and a not-bad scene, but no deep-sinking and/or no apparent threat of going under for those who favor it.

On the VERA MILES scale, I'd give it 2 stars out of a possible 5. Maybe 3.

Not bad for a TV-show. And it's a natural location and not one of these dug holes in the ground with sharp edges.
Also a classic setting that is worth reshooting by the producers here ;)
I'm already chindeep in this mudbog and every desperate attempt to move my stuck legs only drives me deeper in. The thick mud slowly swamps my waders and my arms have nothing to hold onto.
I'm feeling home.

Thanks for finding that Mike!

For those who are in the UK and have Sky, you can download the whole episode on demand in HD to your Sky box! The scene starts at the 46 minute mark. :)

Is it a good thick consistency or is it watery mud and most of all is it a good dramatic scene with a nice slow sink with lots of struggling??

I appreciate the finds and efforts from everyone. I was very excited to see a Hollywood produced quicksand scene. But it was just as I feared. Another watery, poorly done, quickly executed quicksand scene.
