Quicksand Fans

Unless things changed in the game, it’s only knee deep. I stumbled on to this by accident so it gave me hope but alas, it wasn’t as good as it could’ve been.

If you get between the pipes it does work

Have Trevor Phillips crouch against a wall between the pipes and he'll actually submerge completely! I do this with one of the bikini girls in director mode a lot, and she always goes under when I push the "take cover" button while she is in the deepest areas between the pipes. LOL, even I never expected Rockstar would put quicksand in a Gta game, they probably didn't even know they put it in. Maybe it's a bug in the game, because when I would make a random beach babe submerge, she never runs out of air, and starts to lose health like she would in water.

G'day, I've just downloaded GTA online and tried it out and my poor lady character can't sink any more than to her knees. Has it just been patched or is there a secret to getting her under?

I've played around in this before. There are a few different spots scattered around the map... most notably, the spot pointed out in the OP post and another collection of spots along the western coast, somewhere off the road near the military base (been a while since I played, don't remember the name of the area for certain... some sort of wetland preserve?) The animations are nice, and I like that you leave tracks and splatter particles in your wake as you wade through deeper mud, but it's a shame it doesn't leave any mud on your player model... they could have done it similarly to how you can wade into the ocean and your clothes will become wet up to the point you were submerged to, but with a muddy texture overlay instead.

I any case, I always appreciate details like this in any game! Most players would never notice or care about something like this, and they could have easily made all the muddy ground in the game solid and called it a day. Gives me hope that as open world games become increasingly realistic and immersive over time, features like this (or better!) may become more and more common.
