Exposition and ominous sign at 15:56. Scene begins at 37:10.
The character Beth spends some alone time on a secluded beach. She wades into the water to take a selfie, but realises she has stepped into quicksand beneath the water. She is unable to get out, and has to call for help on her phone. The male lead arrives and performs an intense solo rescue.
No quicksand is actually seen, making this the typical underwater sink, but this leaves something to the imagination. Very realistic depiction, and Beth's reactions and trauma are spot-on.

What a good scene. Wish we could get more of this quality, even if the quicksand is covered up.

I really liked this. Most quicksand is under the water, or just at the surface, so this is a realistic portrayal of it.
That's why scenes which others complain are too watery don't bother me at all. As long as the actress sells it, I'm in!
