A bit like him, really

I dated a mountain bike racer who rode onto, then into quicksand. It was up in Ketcham, ID in 2012 after mtb nationals. She was on a ride on a trail that climbed forever, then opened up in a narrow valley. She rode her BMC off the trail, following what she thought were offshoot trails. Then she rode across openings in the knee high grass that had some water on them. On the 4th one, it was muckier, and she got bogged down, popped a foot out of her pedal, put it on the ground, and that was it. Down she went. She barely got her left fot out of her pedal, as the bike was pulling her down pretty quickly. I rolled up and saw her in up to her thighs, and she was pretty upset. I joked that BMC didn't stand for Bog Nachine Capable. She wasn't too happy. I let her sink for a while (she knew I loved it, she even encouraged my drawing and manips) and finally I pulled her and her bke out.
