Its a really great scene, the sound effects and pit are great..... but at the end when the guy comes running the pit is full of water and it loses me there but really great start. Less water more earth.

Oooooo, this scene is new to me. I don't typically mind scenes like this where the pit is watery TOO much, as long as the sinker sells it - which this one did thank you for sharing!

In this case, it's several inches of murky water on top of a thick muddy bottom (yummy!), hence the initial plunge to calf-deep depth, then the discovery of stuckness followed by slow sinkage from struggling to get free ALMOST just the way I like it. Only visible thick mud and barefoot would make it ideal for my tastes.


If it were watery AND they immediately plunged to shoulder depth, then I would cry "foul!". Sawdust on a deep hole filled with water does zero for my entertainment, even if fitted with contraptions to lower the "victim" slowly.



I've been told more than once that I have an eye for detail. That can be a curse when it comes to enjoying this quadrant of the fetish universe.

As such, I've noticed that along with a good performer acting in distress, the trapping medium has to act it's part properly as well to really impress me these days. Watery peat, dry sand or runny mud do not show resistance to attempts to escape, and that is just another form of bad acting to me. I need to see the stuff resisting the act of pulling free. I guess that's why I like the lakeside mud videos best. With a good job of acting, scenes from those sites can be VERY convincing and exciting to watch.

And sounds of strains and grunts with the occasional "Shit!" and "Fuck!" while trying to get free of such a deathtrap are superior to outspoken statements like "Oh, it's quicksand", "I must get out of here somehow!" and the dreaded "It's up to my thighs now!", of which nobody in real life says while trying to escape such a situation. Gotta keep it realistic if not keep it real.

Just layin' it out as it is. We all have our favorites.

I've seen it before but I still absolutely love this scene.

Of course it's a shame that the mud turns watery at the end (perhaps a necessity to allow the actress to be sunk deep enough), but at first it looks like wonderfully thick soil. The sound effects are fantastic. The way that she realises she is stuck and then tries to escape using the pickaxe is great. And it's nice how the guy's strength wasn't enough to free her and he had to use the horse.

While it would have been nice if the mud stayed thick throughout the scene, it's easy enough to imagine that her struggles liquified the mud, or that the water bubbled up from the pit as she sank. So the watery bog at the end doesn't actually ruin the suspension of disbelief.

The director of that TV show nailed the drama of a great quicksand scene, and managed to make it convincing.
