Nothing really....

That edit leaves out the part where her starts feeling her up - like any regular guy would do. 8-)

I dunno, groping an unconscious woman just seems a bit distasteful to me. Tossing her into the river is also distasteful, just zanier.

Not sure why they keep cutting to the snake.

And that is what makes Tarzan so great. He's as unrefined and un-pc as can be. Trying to make him so was one of the things that caused the last Tarzan movie to bomb. He's primitive and has a true "problem=solution" management system. Vera on the other hand was apparently quite fond of such men both in real life and in the movies. She made three with John Wayne, worked for Alfred Hitchcock and John Ford several times, and was married to Gordon Scott who played Tarzan in four flicks. Any of those men would have pitched her in the river.

I don't think its fair to call what Tarzan does "gropping." As I recall the original scene, after he pulls her out of the mire, she faints. He is then somewhat baffled and starts to try to wash the mud off of her. He barely touches her, really just swiping some of the mud off of her with some water. She then wakes up. She reacts as though she thinks he is starting to molest her. He then picks her up and washes her off by dumping her in the river.

I believe she stated "What I really need is a bath", and he obliges her.

I had forgotten that line but that is absolutely correct. She did say that, and he did that.

I realize there's more than one way to take the point I think your trying to make. Consider this though that greater than 60% of the members on this board are probably here to watch pretty ladies drown in quicksand. Each with their own particular twist on this twisted situation and you think one of the fetish greatest fantasy hero's is a jerk because he throws a mud covered lady who wants a bath in the river?

I love women. I really do. I don't mean just sex but I've got a lot of history with women and I love their generosity, heart, the way they look at things, all kinds of great stuff about women. Spent a lot of time with them. Most of them are really smart if you shut up and listen. They're great. Even after that I've cleaned the mud off a lot of ladies in my fantasies and realities with a lot more than a casual splash. She'd think ol' Tarz was a gay gymnast by the time I got done with her. And she'd thank me for it. Tarzan knew exactly where to draw the line. He's a gent in the finest tradition.

Hehe. First of all, I used the term 'groping' in jest. Anyone familiar with the scene knows that.

And I guess that was my point, in a roundabout way. They guy who decided to edit the clip didn't do anyone any favors - especially for this discussion.

But in a broader sense, it is important to realize that the DID fans here do indeed have a different angle than the traditional nitty gritty aggressive point of view. And as Duncan alluded to, that's not to say we're not gentlemen. But really, how convenient it must be to have fantasies that are extensions of the PC world we now live in. Sigh.

We grew up with these movies. Seeing this stuff on Saturday mornings was great. There was no gaming. Our 'controller' was a rotary knob on an old TV. And Tarzan was Tarzan. He was short on vocabulary and let his actions do the talking. He is anti-nuanced. Leave him alone. ;)
