Wow! A shame about the camera angle of the person filming, but still, that's a great real-world random quicksand incident!

Hate to say it but it's not quicksand..... they pulled her out of to easily, just a mud bog. But still enjoyable to see all the same

Hmmmm. I dunno. It looks to me like really pebbly quicksand, which is very fast and doesn't lock up like finer mixtures.

The lack of goo on her legs is very telling.

Lack of material says"peat" to me, or at least reminds me if it. I see no traces of mud.

That material looked like something like pumice, since the gravel-like particles seemed to be floating on water. When the female was pulled out, you could see the water underneath briefly before the material floated back up, closing the patch of open water, making it look like gravelly ground again.

If this really is the Royal National Park (which I think it is) i'll find it and let you know. May not be for a while but i'll find it.

Yea, pumice is a real possibility, but I thought that some fairly recent volcanic activity would be required for it to be around.

Another possibility for 'low density' pebbly stuff is coral. I've been to plenty of beaches that were comprised of crushed coral, as opposed to sand or pebbles. Coral is far less dense than rock.
