In the second video, the quicksand was created by blowing air up through dry sand.

Interesting. Based on experience in this area I'd say the air compressor used was in the league of "moderately big ass construction rental" type. Just looking at the size and number of bubbles around her that's a lot of air. The air pressure on something like that is going to be about the same or even a bit less than 170 psi you get from a cheapie at Home Depot. The difference is the volume of air which is going to be 5-10 cubic feet per minute on the cheapie and 400+ cfm on a big rental. Cost would be in the several hundred dollars a day range depending on how big and where you are.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Could be they used a smaller compressor and just filled a large storage tank.

Is that the only time they did that? - usually they do it to multiple people...
especially being its a lot of work to set that sandtrap up
