The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligans island (M)

Postby gilligansunder » Tue Feb 16, 2021 12:09 pm

This was my very first quicksand scene ever, and remains one of my favorites. It also is the only seen in the history of the Gilligans island franchise to feature Gilligan in quicksand. If there’s ever a reboot I hope whoever succeeds the role of Gilligan can hopefully change that trend. Anyway I saw the scene when I was little, I was developing a fascination with sneakers and was absolutely taken with the scene as it showed A close-up of Gilligans feet sinking into the sand (please don’t tell me it was a manikin). My one disappointment was that the scene didn’t showcase Gilligan being rescued from the sand (I’m a sucker for guy on guy rescue scenes), anyway every guy I’ve ever had a crush on I imagine in the scene.

Anyway somebody has put the full movie on YouTube, hopefully no one takes it down. The fun starts about One hour and two minutes in. I love the bit at the end with Gilligan’s hand is sticking out waving for help.

Actually this was the final television movie to follow the original series. Sadly it was also Jim Backus Final appearance in the role of Mr. Howell. At the time he was suffering from cancer, and subsequently passed away.

I loved Mr. Howell! Good sink by Gilligan. I sank like that once but had to claw myself out. :)

So they build a bench right next to a pit of quicksand. Is that so they can watch?

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

It's for those "Hold my Beer" moments.

If there's nobody around, the bench holds the beer.
