Re: Comic book sinking scenes!
Thanks! I actually had to remove a lot of the older ones from May because I hit the attachment limit. But I do have some cool replacements.
To wit... this one, from an Andy Panda comic, a creation of Walter Lantz of Woody Woodpecker fame. Andy and his bud Charlie Chicken get into serious trouble in the swamps. This is a pretty dramatic sink for a funny animal comic, I thought...
The story is called Swamp Pirates...

I'd say Walter Lantz definitely knows how to draw outstanding Quicksand Scenery for a cartoon comic as well as make the quicksand grip, stretch, and react to its victims' struggles. Definitely one of the better looking comic/cartoon quicksand I've come across in some time. Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

Thnaks, WB! I caught this one years ago in an old reprint digest I found at my cousin's place. The scene just stuck inside my head for more than 30 years... so vivid was the memory of this. Glad it held up...
Here's some random Sheena quicksand scenes. From the original 1940s and 50s comic...

A few more. One bit is more of a slog than a sink, but I think it still works....

Oh, yes, you found some nice ones! The one of the brunette in the short red dress who's calf-deep in mud is rather nice. Thanks for sharing!
