If you're into "acres of mud on the move", there's an old British Sci-Fi/Horror movie by Hammer called "X The Unknown", featuring a monster that looks like a man-eating radioactive mudslide; made sometime in the late 1950s.

i got little tingles every time he said the word. And looking at that stuff... I mean, sure, no one wants to be part of a natural disaster. But the opportunities for playing and sinking afterwards!
