Years ago I read that this old series had a scene where a female scientist falls into quicksand and since then I was curious to see it, today I happened to find the chapter on Youtube, it's not a great scene but enough to satisfy my sense of adventure. The scene begins at minute 19:15:

As good as could be expected. Great thing about scenes like this - There's never a moment when it looks like everybody isn't trying as hard as the can to get it right.
