Hello Everyone,
I came across this old, 1973, Filipino film, "Florinda," which features a short quicksand scene, where a female character, "Criselda" (played by the actress, Rosemarie Gil), falls into quicksand while teasing a hunchbacked man, who tries to save her, but fails. The scene is shot at night, is short, but features a good submergence, with hands raised - you can watch her whole head/face go under:

Go to the 1h45m mark - although, if you rewind a few minutes, you'll see that Criselda locks the main character, "Florinda," in a cellar dungeon, running off with the key in her hands, before she meets her doom.

If you look at the IMDB entry, you'll see that Rosemarie Gil was nominated for best supporting actress - FAMAS Awards (Filipino "Oscars"). You can see a photo of her sinking at this site:

Ms. Gil was quite bold - she did another movie where she had live snakes in her hair!
The swamp set looks menacing, but the camera angles could have been much better. And I certainly wished for a longer sink, showing more struggling.
I checked Crypto's latest Movie Guide and did not see this film listed, so I am hoping this is a new find. If not, forgive my duplication.
Mike
