Oh, so great! Something like this was in my fantasies many years ago.
(My castle was surrounded by a ring of such sand. I was able to control the "fluidization" so that soldiers in heavy armor drowned instantly, but the beautiful naked amazons remained hopelessly stuck neck deep. Then we could choose the best ones, dig them out and bring them into the dungeon )
