Re: Photo series (quicksand stream)
This place looks familiar. I suppose, the photos were taken from a trail in some popular resort or national park. I swear I have seen photos of a girl who sinks in this very quicksand, and those photos were discussed on DeepSinking several years ago. I may try to find those photos, I use to download all of them

And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Re: Photo series (quicksand stream)
It's in Florida somewhere.
A quick glance at the photos reveals -
An album titled "UF" - University of Florida
American style Stop sign in the background.
One apparent Phillistine with a Florida State t-shirt on.
A caption stating that they are on the "Florida Trail".
I didn't dig into it much but I'd be willing to be that just a bit of research would tell us much more.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

My first guess based on the names being bandied about would be the Ocala National Forest. Florida is chock full of inland tidal flats and swamps, though, so there's no shortage of sinking spots there. I wouldn't go looking for some obscure stream in the middle of possibly the incorrect public recreation area.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

My guess is Silver Glen Springs Park in the Ocala National Forest. They have a lot of sand boils in the streams there. Could be Juniper Springs, as well, as that's right on the Florida Trail.
Hey Duncan, watch the FSU cracks.

I kept waiting for anyone to respond.

Re: Photo series (quicksand stream)
My research revealed that I didn't saved the photos that I mentioned. Probably I was short of HDD space then.
It took me almost 2 hours to find the original post on DeepSinking. Here it is: http://deepsinking.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=7110
The photos were posted on Webshots. Unfortunately, all the links don't work. The photos were moved (maybe). I wasn't successful with wayback machine. We still may hope that water_bug_62208 not only provided links, but also downloaded photos.
P.S. It seems, I haven't seen those photos for 5 years. Could be, the place is very different from what was posted in this topic.
