Cool!

The sinking is at the end, it is a male scene. At first it looks like there is going to be nothing but an off-camera sink, but in the last minute some guys go explore the bog equipped with ropes and one voluntarily walks into a deep spot and sinks himself under.

What is said during that sinking scene could be interesting for discussion, so I'll try to give an accurate (almost literal) translation of what the narrator says:

[Just before he steps in]
"He does not yet know how dangerous this spot really is."

[entering, sinking down rapidly]
"And then it happens. Suddenly there is no more hold. Worse yet, even swimming motions do not help."

[down to his shoulders and going deeper]
"But as yet his colleague shall not get him out, maybe he still succeeds at working himself up again."

[gone under]
"This moor is really stronger. Without help he would not have a chance now."

[being pulled out]
"So, also then 2000 years ago, the girl of Windeby* would have gone under, if it really had been driven into the moor - maybe as punishment for sodomy."
* reference to one of the corpses this documentary is about
Visit me at the Great Swamp, but watch your step on the way there!

This guy must've been weighted down. Otherwise, he should have reached a buoyancy point. Or was he doing a "pull down" motion that we simply couldn't see?

gamwam is right. There are many variables that go into determining where a body stops sinking. In a peat bog like that it can get less dense toward the bottom and that changes the dynamics substantially. Add the increased muscle mass of a male body and it was totally plausible to me. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.
