Identify a Story?

Way back when... and I mean WAY back when... and if my memory still functions I believe there was a story that involved a chase that was really a sort of game. A woman was being followed or chased. It turned out it was her boyfriend chasing. he blundered into quicksand (as I recall that part was accidental) and she was eventually rescued. The way I remember it, the facts of who was chasing her, and that is was a game, was not revealed to the reader until the end.

I am uncertain but I think there may have been two such stories,

Anyway, can anyone recall the titles and/or authors?

I have an old story that matches this description. The filename is simply "The Chase", but there is no title or author listed in the file itself. It's pretty short - Let me know if you would like me to post it here.

You were here as a crewman when we filmed a scene by that title and with a somewhat similar plot except it was the woman being chased who fell into the mud.
