Royalty-free music

I guess this is a request. As some of you know, I like to create animations and slide shows. Does anyone know of websites which offer royalty-free music that I could add as soundtracks to my videos? I would like to add music to them if I could. While I have added music to my postings on Kaol's Yahoo! group, I know I will not be able to distribute my videos or post them in public forums like YouTube if I use music which has been copyrighted (Not only is profiting from someone else's work illegal, it's stealing!). I know there are sites which offer royalty-free music, but I don't know where they are. Any help from the group would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've been using Sounddogs for some time now. http://www.sounddogs.com/

The site is a little clumsy. But the biggest headache is not knowing how much an item costs until you go to check out. So what I do is select a bunch of stuff and then whittle away the stuff I can't justify once I see the costs.


But another site that I found recently has much better pricing. It's here http://www.royaltyfreemusiclibrary.com/

Their downloadable CD's are a great value, if they have the sound you are looking for.

It depends on what you need, of course, but to make background music and some sound effects I bought a Yamaha keyboard and make my own. I have the musical talent of a toad but it actually seems to work.

Flying Hands Music which I had been using merged with Royalty Free Music a while ago so that is where I am getting my background music now. You do have to purchase what you buy though and agree to a license agreement. A hard copy CD is about $120 but I think you can download individual music as well.

not sure if it's what you're looking for but have you tried the audio portal of Newgrounds?

The music there is free as long as you keep to certain conditions, and theres some good stuff if you look around.
