Quicksand Fans

Remember the show Dream On? It was an HBO sitcom about a man who, as a child, watched lots and lots of TV. They often used flashbacks to TV shows to indicate the character's reaction to scenarios. One of those flashbacks featured what looked like an old western. I think it was B&W. There was a man in quicksand, up to his chest, struggling to reach the edge. Kneeling on the solid land was a woman desperately trying to push him under.

Anyone know what that original scene was from?

Alas, I don't.... but sounds like a helluva scene.
