Quicksand Fans

A story I used to have keeps coming back in my thoughts. I forget the title and the author. It is about a Young Woman. She wanders the woods in her neighborhood, and after a bit finds herself staring in the backyard in a more affluent part of the neighborhood. She sees two schoolmates, sunbathing topless. They see her and chase her into a quicksand pit and she sinks...I can't remember if its a grim ending, or if she is rescued. Any help would be great.

Sounds like a good one.... but I can't recall ever reading one like that. Hopefully someone will find it.
