Quicksand Fans

One or two stunts have been done whreby an actress basically did a handstand in clay, though she did not subsequently sink to her toes. To do what you request would, I think, clearly require the actress to hold her breath for more than 20 seconds. This is not impossible but, given that she would also be working fairly hard to maneuver, it would be asking quite a lot. A handstand followed by a very rapid submergence MIGHT be feasible but it would have to be a pretty quick scene. And, because it would be quick, it would also be a very short scene (more of a clip). This would put its production into the category of a custom scene, in my opinion, as there is little likelihood of production costs being covered by a twenty-second scene through individual scene sales. The cost for that could easily be several hundred. I have one actress I know could do it that way.

We can certainly make it look that way, at the very least. Three or four cameras all filming a 10 second clip, the four clips spliced end to end with a proper transition, and then all four used again but played backwards would add up to a minute twenty.
