Story May Be Lost

Many years ago I wrote a story called "The Way of the Fen." It seems to be missing from my archives although a screenplay version of it called "You Can't Get There From Here" I do have. This is to ask if anyone has it.

Plot-wise the story involves a woman running out of gas while heading south on a major road toward Boston. She see a "Cities Service" sign on the other side of a thick green forest and tries to go there. Cities Service was a gasoline company years ago. She gets into a bog and crawls across only to find the sign is still on the other side of the bog. She crosses the bog several times but the sign is always on the other side. For those who have lived near Boston and attended Red Sox games you will recognize that the thick green forest is a metaphor for the left field wall at Fenway Park (hence the title Way of the Fen), and the gasoline sign represents the exact sign that could be seen behind the left field wall if you attended a game.

If you have it I would appreciate it if you would send it to me or post it as a reply with attachment in the Story Re-post of today (for the screenplay version) in the Studio 588 producer forum.

I remember this one. I don't have it, though, as it probably died in a hard drive crash. I don't think you'd even built your Studio yet when I read it.

My condolences. It stinks when that happens.
