yeh i thought so too but its a myth. being intrested in fash i said the same thing to a fan of those series once i knew and he went to great pains to show me designs which were done by a designer on the show and not by sylvia anderson
i couldnt find the girl costumes but i did find some - and im sure it was the same artist - signed 'k g wilson'

There is the "Space 1999" episode "Space Brain". The moonbase was
inundated with foam from a entity as the moon was passing through
it. There were two or three scene of the men an women in the foam-
swamped corridors.

Just opened that one to look at it. Looks like somebody's washing machine overflowed. I'll bet they had a fun time trying to clean up the set after that.

Just for the record, the original uniforms for "Space 1999" were designed by Rudi Gernreich, who, if memory serves me right, was the designer responsible for....the Miniskirt!

He was responsible for a lot of great creations. The man was ahead of his time when it came to adoring the female form. I remember these three in particular.
