I remember a story set in an arroyo or desert canyon. I think it had a bikini clad female, but may had ended naked. I remember reddish mud and descriptions of how it quaked. Anyone remember it or hsve it?

I think I do.... was that The Entomologist? Sounds like it... she was looking for spiders and found them, plus the quicksand they were scampering across. By Wayne Coulter if I'm not mistaken...

I recall a story written in first person of a gal who rode a horse either to a river edge, maybe a river in a canyon area, dismounted, and walked along the river quicksand naked. Seemed it was a story crisscrossing from sensual and drama during her sink... seemed she was stuck, yet was enjoying the sink. Seems that at the end she was ready to get out, couldn't, and was eventually rescued by a guy passing by.

Thanks ya'll for the input. It is not The Etymologist, which is posted on this site; nor is it Canyon Mud.(I have the original). I know that it was a desert canyon type setting ( arizona or nevada type area) and that that it was grim. I think that she was bikini clad or nude, maybe both. There may have been a waterfall involved, but my older mind might be mixing stories.

Kind of hard to forget the folks who write lines describing hot quicksand filling her shorts...

Yeah, I do like the sound of a gal stuck and sinking in warm or hot quicksand or mud versus their cold counterpart.
