Sorry if this is the wrong board for this question, but, as far as I could tell this seemed like the best place to put it. I'm still kind of new around here.
What exactly are the limits to the stories allowed to be posted on this forum? For example, I have written stories that are not really about 'quicksand' per se but rather other substances/scenarios that would behave generally similar. Pits of slime, honey, bubblegum, tentacles, etc. While all my stories involve women slowly sinking and eventually drowning in some kind of viscous material, that's about where the similarity ends in some cases. Is that acceptable?
If not, that's okay, I've got other places I can post my stories, so I won't be offended or anything. I'm just curious.

Re: Question About Posting Stories
This is a good question. I'll go ahead and answer with a historical reference.
Back at Deep Sinking, we endured a rather sophisticated attack by someone managing three personalities. That person was mainly into vore, but he was trying to make an inroad by posting quicksand stories. Over time, the stories became more and more vore and less and less quicksand. We learned a lesson in micro moderating (bad) and macro moderating (good). We also developed a criteria for whether or not a quicksand story was on-topic.
Basically, to be on-topic, the central (mainly final) 'danger' in the story has to be sinking of some sort. Being eaten, stabbed, sliced, diced, chopped, impaled, poisoned, shot or otherwise mangled won't work. Tentacles are ok as long as they ultimately enhance quicksand/sinking.
Likewise, the sinking medium is important. A lot of substances are ok, but dung, for example, is not (it's a different fetish).
I think that a vore/gore/tentacle story that contains a full blown and uncluttered quicksand scene 'along the way' is ok. But honestly, as much as there are plenty of cross-over folks here, most QSF members will tune out or be disappointed if the climax/end of the story is not quicksand.
If there are additional opinions about this, please post them. But I do believe that the mods are pretty much in line with the above criteria.

Re: Question About Posting Stories
Dave's right. The important thing to remember is what QSF is about. There needs to be something involving a quicksand like substance if not outright quicksand. We don't do messy, vore, or food and we for damn sure do not do anything like excrement of any kind ever. I've spent almost thirty years ankle deep in all manner of farm shit and maybe it's a little personal for me but I come here to get away from that. Anyhow, the exact definition might be hard to pin down but if somebody sinks into an all enveloping substance and it ain't shit then I'm probably good with it.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Re: Question About Posting Stories
Thanks for the replies! Well that definitely rules out at least one of my stories, but like I said I can still post that one elsewhere, so no worries. All of them do prominently feature sinking as the main threat, so no problems there.
By the way, would other bodily fluids be considered 'borderline' to post? For example, I have some different story ideas featuring phlegm, cum, and vomit, should I perhaps keep those to myself as well? The vomit one, well, I think I can go ahead and guess the answer to that, because it's at least as 'gross' as excrement. But the other two are at least a little more questionable.
And, if it is okay to post them, should I put some kind of warning in the title?
About the 'no vore' rule, well, say there's a mouth in the ground that pulls someone down through a thick substance? So long as they drown before they're swallowed, is that acceptable?
Last question, I swear. Is a thick liquid that rises over someone's head acceptable, since that's not technically 'sinking'?
. . . Okay, sorry, I know, this all probably seems like I'm setting out to intentionally 'test' the limits of your website's policies, and so I just want to mention that that's not my goal at all. I just have a very very easily bored brain, and so my stories tend to be a little off-the-wall because that's just how I keep myself interested. But like I said, feel free to shoot down anything you want.

I appreciate you asking and I'll try once again to explain that this board is about quicksand. This board is not about bodily fluids and related subjects. If you have any further doubts then I'd suggest you don't even try to post here. If the connection to quicksand is that vague I'd tell you the same.
I hope this clears things up.

Quite honestly, the level of maturity you're demonstrating is refreshing. We've seen too many pouters (and that's putting it lightly) lately.
Thank you for respecting Quicksand Fans. I'm looking forward to enjoying your quicksand centric writing.

Re: Question About Posting Stories
Would adding a clear warning, such as "WARNING, CONTAINS SCAT/VOMIT/GROSS STUFF" to the thread and story title be a reasonable middle ground? What people do and don't find too gross is very subjective. One person's fetish is another's nausea inducer.
Yes, I do understand that this is your website, and you totally can ban certain material "just because".
In any case, yes, I am interested in reading Mukraken's "ruled out" story, and the only way I would have ever known about it is if this thread was created.
Edit: And, after reading my post, it does sound quite "whiney". That's not my intention, and I don't want to sound petty.

Re: Question About Posting Stories
While it may be someone else's fetish, there are other places to post that kind of thing. I think the forum's line and focus on subject matter is clear and fair.
