Quicksand Fans

well, ive been trying to build my own quicksand pit in my backyard for the past 3 years, and all my attempts have resulted in rather pools of water, the ground solidizing, water being absorbed, and in one case i had it almost right, i got stuck in solid dirt. i can usually get about 3 inches rich like mud but im having problems with the water to dirt/sand ratio and trying to keep water in
i have also tried sticking a water hose in the ground but it does nothing but create a space for me to fall into, not yo mention watet just seeps out where i stick the hose in.
could i get some advise on how to make a good qs pit for my self and my frirnds

Quicksand or deep mud is not just topsoil and water, as you have discovered. If it was then there would be deep mud everywhere everytime there was a heavy rainfall.

First you have to decide what kind of material you want to fill you pit with. That could be sand, pure clay, peat moss, or perhaps something else. The way you build a pit will be different depending on what you use. Also, how long you mud stays soft may be a critical consideration. For example, if your property is not isolated enough to prevent visitation by unwanted people then you need something that looses its softness as soon as the water is turned off (sand).

okso, ive created my pit and lined it with my tarp, put sand in, and i have a cover up system in place
now, what way is best to liquidfy the sand, i just need an opinion
