Can Anyone Identify This Movie

There is a movie scene I remember rather vaguely from my childhood years that I would like to identify. It was NOT a quicksand scene.
Here is what I remember for sure: I saw the movie some time in the late 1950s on Saturday morning TV, so it has to be from that era or before. It might well be from the 40s or even the 30s. It was some sort of jungle adventure movie. Toward the end, a woman had climbed out on the edge of a huge cliff. I think she was intending to jump, perhaps out of guilt or something but that I don't remember. The hero of the flick was then trying to persuade her not to jump. Just as she agreed to not jum, the rock she was standing on broke and she fell to her death. At that point the movie ended.
This was a rather odd and unusual ending for a movie that was on children's TV, but that is definitely where I saw it. I have often wondered, in fact, if perhaps this was a case of someone broadcasting a movie without knowing its contents.
