Quicksand Fans

I found this mud hole during a late night hike Sunday night...I just had to try it out!!

At the end was a wet mud pit...but I was unprepared...so I'm planning on going back next weekend for more...wishing for lots of rain

Thanks! I did get some day shots of the site, it dried up a bit, but thankfully there is lots of rain coming over the next few days

I went back last night (Sunday) and the conditions were excellent! Better than last time! And I sank even further! It was soooo good!

It was a bit of a struggle to get out though! But exciting!

It's seems too watery at the end... It was the case ?

Yes it was a bit watery the second time I was there, I'd say about 3 inches of water, but the rest was muddy clay?
The third time I went was the best. Conditions were almost like the first set of pictures, but sadly it was raining that night, and my phone doesn't like taking pictures in the rain! But I sank down to my waist in mud!
I haven't been back there for a couple of weeks, the last time I was there it was sadly all dried up !
But you can see the hole I left!

This place is located in a quarry, and I wonder if it was man made or natural?
