The texture of the mudpit in the middle is very nice. Looks like there's a duckweed-thing going on top of the mud in the grassy (cattail-ly?) place...which describes a lot of locations I've used too. Duckweed can be decorative.
I haven't seen you posting in awhile. Welcome back to the fold.

Hey Mudsocks,
Also echoing Nessie, welcome back. Some pretty awesome pictures to start back up. The duckweed one is particularly good - probably wasn't really a good muddy location, but you can use your imagination with duckweed on top - so nice picture.

It's so good to see your name again.
I remember the story "contests" you initiated to be based on your pics. They were on (I think) an old geocities/yahoo group.
I submitted a couple (one about the backyard swimming pool being dug, the rain storm, and the collapsing wall of the pool pit; one about the sun drying the top layer of dirt in a backyard so it looked safe to walk on) and being very eager to hear your take on it.
The funny thing is, I remember that story being set at a house I haven't lived in for 13 years. It can't be that long since you last popped up - I must be mis-remembering. Old age will do that to ya' you know.
I hope all has been well and that you've been having a good time of it these last few years.
Don't be a stranger.
Later.

I love that first shot of elegant long black socks going down into the mud. Are they silk?
