The quicksand's suction was pulling her down. She was sinking fast!

Because of all her struggling and thrashing about, she was sinking faster!

She was just trying to get to the beach to enjoy the surf when suddenly the sand beneath her gave in! She was breast deep, couldn't move and didn't know what to do!!
