Those are better, I think you are getting somewhere now. These are jpgs, you should find that generating images as pngs give better quality. There's an extension called ADetailer that can improve faces and eyes that may be useful at this point. I've got to go out for a while but will add some extra thoughts later.

Most of my checkpoint models are rubbish at footwear, but this one gets it right from time to time.

It is possible, how successful it will be is a different matter. It can be done using Stable Diffusion, this is a use for the Img2img tab you tried earlier. You'd load the image you want to improve and upscale it, SD will add in some detail to "improve" the quality and you end up with a larger image with more resolution. The original image must be reasonably good or things can go a bit haywire. There are other products available that will do this e.g. Topaz Gigapixel and Topaz AI, they are not free thought.

I think I may have made some progress on your sharpness issue. I've only just noticed the images you've posted are 400x400, this is about 60% of the area of a 512x512 and, consequently, 60% of the detail. I've run a query on my system using the AbsoluteReality model at 400x400 and got this:

I then changed the size to 512x512 and got this (changing size changes image) better but still not sharp.

Next step was to change the upscaler, first I chose Lanczos as it's good and pretty quick

I tried a different upscaler ESRGAN-4x and got this (slight improvement) slightly slower but not much

Finally (I can only get 5 images per post) I tried LDSR, I think this is the best upscaler you get as standard but it is a lot slower

Hopefully this will make a significant difference for you.

Note: this prompt doesn't have any of the photographic bit in. I just wanted to see how good we could get it without any of that, then those things can be added as refinement.
