That's not posh, it's just supercilious, patronising and snobbish. Those are traits of the nouveau riche and aren't just limited to England. True aristocrats are unfailingly polite and courteous. As Sir Geoffrey once told me, he came from a long line of thieves and murderers, it was just that they thieved and murdered for the monarch. His family were immigrants, they came to England with William the Bastard in 1066!

Ha, pulled a few trees down myself getting out. Small trees, not big one. Thought on one occasion there was a full sized pine tree next to my access to the boggy bit, it was quite a windy day and this tree was swaying a surprising amount, I went for a closer look and the roots one one side of the tree were all broken so the base of the tree was lifting up out of the ground as it swayed. I decided to go elsewhere that day. Next time I checked the tree was down and lying right across the boggy bit. I don't know when it fell but I was glad I wasn't there.

Yeah, should be OK, that mud looks quite firm so not a lot should seep in, it's the watery stuff that fills the waders and weighs a ton when you try to get out.

Oh no, the gods demand the finest for sacrifices, giving them a plain one would be considered blasphemy and would being tempests and disaster down on the tribe.

Well, she'd really christened her new waders now, they were totally swamped! They'd never smell new again. No matter how much she washed them, they'd always retain that earthy smell. She didn't mind though, she quite liked the earthy smell, it reminded her of days like today!

The mud plain extended quite a distance in all directions. The surface was quite sloppy and left no trace of your passing. Underneath it was firmer and more clinging. She seemed to have been floundering through this for ages, but the far shore still seemed as distant as ever. The depth could vary dramatically and there was nothing to warn of the hazardous places. She wouldn't know she'd stepped into one until it was too late. This was exhilarating!
