I know she's not sinking much (yet) but I like the outfit, thought it looked good and fitted the scenario well. For once the AI did a good job on the boots, that's pretty rare. I've only ever found one place in the UK that had duckboards (no park rangers though), you could step of the duckboards it was only ankle deep, don't know why they bothered!

Could not agree more regarding her outfit. Posh, riding-style attire. Especially her boots do look really expensive. I'm not so sure if the fine leather will stand the mud....

The duckboards and all those regulations over here are to protect the wildlife and the sensitive soil, not exactly the hikers from sinking away .
At this area i find possibly interesting spots almost always by satellite images. When hiking around you only see heathland

Whether the leather survives the treatment depends a lot on the type of Hyde/heather, I've had shoes that mess up at the first sign of rain but once had a good pair of cowboy boots (you could wear them in the UK back then). They got a lot of wear and abuse but always cleaned up fine. They were quite expensive at the time and were genuine "Made in USA" ones.

Good protective clothing doesn't always have to come in olive green or yellow, other colours are available. I also note that the AI does quite a lot of asymmetric footwear, e.g. one boot under the knee and the other over the knee, I guess it must be aware of the practicalities of loosing one boot in a bog and having to make do.
