Since the lakebed was dry, the woman assumed it was safe to cross to the other side, only to find it was a very dangerous activity!

Carol, dressed in green safari outfit explores a Louisiana bayou. She was mesmerized by the beauty of the different colors of flowers. All of a sudden, she couldn't moved any further. Carol looked down to find she walked into quicksand and sunk hip deep. She panics and struggles and sinking fast!

Interesting adaptation of the movie scene. Your photo caught a good moment with Susan Penhaligan chest deep after the initial plunge. This could have been a dynamite scene instead of just an OK one if the quicksand prop had been believably thick. I still enjoyed watching it, as I had read the Edgar Rice Burroughs story, and there was a slightly different female quicksand scene in the original text.
