Sinking Footwear

Postby linzidover » Thu Nov 26, 2009 5:24 am

Anyone any preferences on footwear during a good sink? Do you prefer barefoot, nylons, pumps sandals boots, which combos? Aherm sorry girls and xdressers there but sppose guys too for viewing purposes. :?:

I love to feel my nylons glide into the muck, and the mud ooze forced between the taught nylon covering my toes. When wearing thigh highs I do love the approach of the mud to my stocking tops, its a critical moment as I know whats coming next. :o

Well as my ID here indicates, boots of course are my footwear of choice, I feel fortunate to combine both fetishes in one!
Now when it comes what type of boot in particular, my preference is the stout, clunky leather laced up walking boots (hiking boots). Although workboots or DM's do work for me also.

Taking my fetish one step further preferably boots should be brown in colour.

I have always been something of a tomboy (well I like to think of myself as a tomgirl!) I find that wearing such boots always helps to magnify the slurping and sucking sounds, when in mud or muck, which is a powerful turn on for me in itself.

Also it increases the potential to get really bogged down from having such heavy boots on with stiff, lugged vibram type soles which also adds to the excitement for me (I guess it's a bondage thing)

Finally I get such a rush sinking up over the boot tops in bog, from stepping in initially and feeling the cool, wet bog substance oozing inside them and slowly filling them up eventually.

Occasionally I get to wallow in my Uniroyal Hunter wellies too, (those are green) but I prefer shallower situations then. :D

I draw distinctions between viewing pleasure and actual sinkwear.

For viewing pleasure, footwear that doesn't belong in quicksand is best. Females may wear dressy pumps, high heels, anything with bows or rhinestones, and nylons of any kind look good too. Men may wear dress shoes with white socks. If you'd wear it to a fine restaurant, it's good to look at in mud.

I've experimented with fashion boots (for video purposes, not for actual sinking purposes) and of course I chose black shiny absurdly high heels that don't belong in mud at all and don't do an adequate job of protecting feet from cold. And of course they do not function well in mud, but then again, if they did, they wouldn't be interesting.

For actual, non-camera, pleasure-oriented sinking, impractical sinkwear is difficult to babysit. So, barefoot is ideal when it can be accomplished. Mud on soles and toes feels good. Too many times, though, I can't be barefoot because of the stuff under the mud can cut feet up or the walk to the mudpit is prohibitively thorny.

Footwear that truly functions in swamps with ultra-sticky bottoms has in fact been an awful problem. Flat-heeled boots, including wellies, get stuck in my mudpits. So do too many kinds of athletic shoes. The heavier the sole, the klunkier the shoe, the worse the problem!

The best solution I've found is to wear "aquasocks" that are made of thin fabric and have thin soles...these have a loop built in by the heel. They need to fit snug. I run a shoelace through the loop and tie the shoe onto my ankle. These go over stockingfoot waders in cold weather or, on warmer days, they're all the footwear I wear. If they get sssssssssucked off, the laces keep me from losing the shoe totally.

No socks in warm weather. At least one pair, though, sometimes two, under waders in cold mud.

Barefoot works best for me.

I'm lucky as my sinking area has nothing nasty to dig at my feet. On the approach to it, I wear sneakers, as it is in a forested and marshy area, but my actual pit contains only mud. Took me ages to cultivate it, but it was worth the effort. :)

During my hikes to and from my sinking areas, I prefer to wear shoes or workboots, unless I have to walk through wet areas, in which case, I tend to go barefoot, but treading carefully. But, when I go sinking, barefoot is my main preference, since my feet get to feel the soft mud, while footwear, especially ones with rigid soles, may tend to get stuck and lost more easily in the mud, and also isolate my feet from the feel of the mire.
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

May I suggest "Chucks" - Converse "Chuck Taylor all-star" high-tops. They're good for going to and from the mud, go in the washer and dryer, and when laced up stay on nicely in the mud. And that "vacuum sole" is perfect for getting yourself sucked down into mud. (Of course, in really deep stuff where that can be a problem, barefoot would be safer.)

I must confess enjoying flooding rubber boots ("wellies") on occasion. In deep and thick mud, however, getting your boots back can be a major operation.

I also strongly advise AGAINST "Crocs" brand footwear as mudding gear. The tread on the soles loads up quickly, so you have no traction, and with mud inside them your foot will slide around- this can also make you lose your balance or turn an ankle.

Well, obviously my avatar and my signature would do my talking for me... I love wearing ladies' fashion and fetish boots in mud and quicksand and have never gotten stuck to the point that I either feared that I wouldn't get out, or lost a boot or both in the process. I have, however, lost heels and soles in some cases, so I prefer not to invest too much in a pair of boots ($50 is pretty much the top end, but I prefer less than $20). I would definitely suggest picking a pair that fits your legs snugly so they don't slip off, and I prefer vinyl/pvc because they are easiest to clean (and reuse). Leather boots are nice but they require more care when cleaning and drying, especially if you want them to last as long as possible. I just discovered a line of ladies' rain boots with moderately high heels (about 2-1/2") that look a little sexier than the welly-type rain boots that are very popular now. They are called Diverse "Jelly" boots, come in about 4 color combinations... They are also very inexpensive, I think about $20 plus shipping, from eBay seller street-moda (also streetmoda.com). As for myself, my favorite sinkwear is a nice shiny pair of black patent thigh high boots, with 4"-5" heels... it's lots of fun watching the tops of the boots disappear into the mud, as the OP said, you know what's coming next...

I wore "Crocs" the first time I approached a certain creek-fed mudpit, and I did not actually mean to wear them in the mud. I had my regular mud gear with me, in fact (the wader/aquashoe combo).

I intended to go down the creek to explore but I got curious, and I simply approached the side of the creek to examine it (did it look muddy in there?) while my mudwear was still in its bag on the bridge.

In about four inches of mud, one Croc got completely stuck. I had to take my feet out of it and dig it out with my hands.

No. Do not wear "Crocs"!

I did film "Bikini Bootboggin'" right there. Egad, those high-heely BOOTS, while difficult for me, worked lots better than "Crocs"!
