Re: Game Bog
Perhaps it might work if you set it to record whatever is on your desktop, rather than specifically a game. (It might not recognise it as being a game/full screen application.) OBS has an option where it can record anything on your screen, even if it's just your desktop or internet browser etc.

Re: Game Bog
I figured it out. All it took was for me to get a couple of decent night's sleep and I could finally think straight again!
Thank you everyone who offered and/or gave help.
OK, I made a little story-ette using Cracked Cradle as my paint and Nero 2014 video maker as my canvas. I made versions with two different endings for the full-submergence crowd as well as the happy ending fans such as myself. I hope they prove worth watching.

Re: Game Bog
Wow, really nice work!
Loved it!
You did a great job acting out a story using the character's movements and the subtitles.
It would have been cool if she'd been able to get out of the first bog and then gotten stuck in the second or third type of bog...
But, that might not even have been possible. If I remember correctly from the last time I played, it's pretty damn difficult (maybe impossible?) to escape once you are more than waist deep. Especially the first bog, that is covered by vegetation.
I think the bogs have got different behaviours - the first one is trickier to sink into in the first place, you can walk a random number of steps on it without sinking, but once you sink and get stuck you are really stuck. I remember messing around with that first bog and then getting caught out and doomed by the unpredictability! I think the second bog (a mud pool not covered in vegetation) is easier to sink into, but also easier to escape, it's more liquid. And then the third bog is tar that stretches and clings to you and pulls you back in.
So that's a limitation of the game mechanics - to have her escape the first bog and then fall into the second, you'd need to not let her sink much at all in the first bog. So any scene featuring a 'good' sink in the first bog isn't going to feature any of the other bogs.
Similarly, for the 'rescue' version of the scene, a self-rescue/escape would have been cooler than fading to black and text saying the kidnappers pulled her out... but I think that version would definately be impossible, even if it were the second bog. Once you are significantly deep, all the bogs are deadly and inescapable with the amount of stamina that your character has.
So working within the game's limitations, you really created an awesome scene there! I think I'll go watch it again...

Re: Game Bog
Thank you for the kind kudos.
Somewhat off-topic, but I'm also experimenting with a "CARS" type universe using a very muddy driving simulator called SPINTIRES. I have the results of one such experiment on the 'Tube now as well, with more in production and nearly complete. In this new world, the "people" are named KAARS.

Lots of 'stuck' and not much 'sink' though. The mud doesn't get any deeper than the tops of their tires in that game. Each video took from 90 up to over 120 or more separately-shot scenes/camera angles taken over several days, assembled into a movie using Nero 2015. Post-shooting work involves creating dialog, writes and re-writes of scripts, re-shooting scenes and/or filming additional new footage to fill in spots where pre-viewings reveal gaps in the visual storyline that need to be filled.
It's a LOT more work that I expected making these so-called mini-movies, but I enjoyed doing it none-the-less. I hope others like them too.

Little tip if you try to use Crackle Cradle again. If you press the End button, you can actually drop your gun. Thought it might be nice to know.

Re: Game Bog
It is a nice little demo thats for sure.
Unfortunately don't expect any more or for it to be finished, the guy who made it kind of went insane about 5 months ago over some kind of drama and wont release anything they make ever again. I knew them as a friend. It kind of sucks.

Ya, it's been almost 2 years since I acquired it wayyyy back on page 6 of this very thread. I kinda figured he lost interest in the project once he got it to this point. A shame.

Could you have a scenario where the victim actually enjoys being stuck?

I'm not sure, as every bog entry is inescapable eventually, every submergence ends in a fatality, and the sprite automatically goes into a desperate struggle mode automatically when it gets stuck, with every control input producing a panicked struggle motion out of a group of 4 available (from what I can interpret). I haven't programmed with anything but BASIC language, else I'd try to change that.
I'm fairly good at figuring things out though. I've already managed to remove shoes and/or clothing and change hair colors blonde on Nana and turn Rokyo into a redhead (Yuki looks great as-is).
I also modded Yuki's jumping style so that it's more straight up and down like the other two lasses rather than doing aerial flips every time she leaps. I had to, to eliminate her tendency to do somersaults in the bog (weird!). I once even made Rokyo totally bald, looking like an angry Sinead O'connor running around with a 12" dagger.

But I have to admit, happy stucks are 180-degrees about-face from my area of interest. I get so bummed-out when I see a good sink and/or struggle in a video, only to have the fun come crashing down because the model suddenly smiled or giggled.

I'll experiment a bit, but no promises.

I DO have another CC video coming soon, just waiting for dialog to be completed. This one will involve all 3 scenes in the game and will star Yuki this time with her modded jump style. It took me a couple dozen takes to get something "on film" that I feel will work, but I think I captured what I was looking for. More soon.
