'Ey, gang. Finally got some motivation to share another something on here. This is one of my more recent tales.
Now, as to the concept depicted... I was RPing with a friend o' mine once, this idea came up, and... It just stuck.
Don't inquire how we come up with these things. We just... Do.

Within Olympia, the quicksand plays by its own rules. For instance: Within the Forsaken Valley, its mud and other substances barrel over its prey, covering it in multiple layers as they sink, before oozing into their mouths to drown them early. Those who’re majorly good are always expected to survive after drowning. However, there’s one instance that is always popular to expect: When the quicksand come to life on its own to entice those sinking in it.
It is not an uncommon sight in Olympia. On certain days of the week each month, the quicksand will develop a mind of its own, making it semi-sentient. When a victim is in living quicksand, it forms tentacles that coil and drill into its current victim, maxing out at 10 tentacles per victim. The victim is pumped with the substance that is living at the moment, thus having their bloodstream affected by the substance, all as they sink and are placed into a deep sleep.
And once in a deep sleep, they are encased in a cocoon under the surface until they drown and fuse with the quicksand. But it is a momentary thing as the victim returns alive and well, either as a quicksand doll for a few moments, or as if nothing happened at all, all upon the thoughts of the victim. Nobody knows this more than Munira, and her twin sister Sakina. Their experience with the living quicksand started one Spring day after a torrential rainstorm.
Deep within the confides of the Amber Jungle, Munira and Sakina had been gathering precious stores of amber for reasons unknown. Maybe they wanted to sell them to a museum, or perhaps they wished to make jewelry with this amber. Whatever the reason, they avoided the amber sap oozing down the trees right now. For if they got caught in it, they would be fossilized within moments. The day was that warm for it to happen, and nobody wanted to be fossilized.
“Have you found a lot of amber, Sakina?” Munira asks. “Why, yes.” Sakina answered. “I’ve found a whole lot of the usual amber, as well as some greens.” She then says. “I’ve had better luck finding blues along with the usual. What I really want is at least one piece of red amber.” Munira says. Sakina rubbed her chin. “I think father said red amber is located deeper in.” Sakina said. Munira nods as she heads deeper into the jungle as Sakina resumed mining.
Blue amber is quite rare and highly sought after. To even see a piece of it is not a common thing. However, while red and green amber were common as regular amber, blue was often the color highly sought after as it fetched a pretty penny. For Munira to have much blue amber was a matter of luck and knowing just where to dig to find it. As Munira trails deeper into the jungle, the ground began squishing under her feet. “Ooh, mud…” She said.
Right about this moment, Sakina dashed over. The squishing of the mud having reached her ears. “Did someone say mud?!” She asked, excitedly. Munira turned to her younger, and bustier twin, exasperated. “Holy crap! Is mud a homing beacon to you, or what?!” She asked. “I’m a simple girl,” Said Sakina. “I hear mud, I run over.” “Oi vey, you’re just like Shantae in a sense…” Said Munira. “Can you blame me?” Sakina giggled. Munira shakes her head.
“Come on, there should be more amber up ahead.” Said Sakina. “You take the lead.” She adds. “If you insist…” Munira replied. Without so much as a hint of hesitation, Munira stepped into the mud, only for her foot to sink into it. “This isn’t mud, this is quicksand!” Exclaimed Munira. “Ooh, that’s even better!” Sakina proclaimed. “Now we can search for amber as we’re sinking in its loving embrace…” Munira sighed. “You’re such an enigma…” She said.
Sakina watched Munira wade through the quicksand. That is until… Something crawled up Munira’s leg, her face flushing blue. “…What’s on me?” Munira asked. “Please tell me it’s not a centipede…” “It’s not.” Sakina said. “Then what is on me?” The dancer asked. “It’s quicksand apparently.” Sakina noted. “Of course it’s on me, for I’m standing in it.” Munira bluntly stated. “No, literally.” Sakina said. “It’s literally on you.” Munira groaned.
“If this is a trick,” Said Munira. “Please remind me to hogtie you in the submergence room!” Munira looked down to her legs. A tentacle of quicksand was inching up her leg. “WHAT THE?!” She exclaimed. “Oh my gods! It’s true!” “See?” Sakina giggled. As Munira was trying to piece together what was going on, she remained still as still can be. She observed another tentacle rising up her leg, meeting with the other currently on her.
“It must be alive if it’s doing that.” Sakina noted. “Living quicksand?” Munira asked in disbelief. “You can’t be serious…” As Munira tried to pry one of the tentacles off, the one that climbed up her first reached her hip and fused with her flesh, drilling into it steadily. Munira yelled out as this happened but… The pain was non-existent. Sakina saw the tentacle fusing with Munira’s flesh a little as it secured her twin sister. She grew excited at the sight.
As more tentacles arose around Munira, Sakina wasted no time in ripping her shoes and top off before placing her feet into the quicksand. As Sakina slipped her feet into the quicksand, she had octopi on her mind, and so the tentacles rising to ensnare her changed to look like the arms of an octopus. This came complete with the suction cups. “We picked a nice day to go amber hunting…” Sakina said as she stood and moved to be near her twin sister.
Munira shook her head. “You’re just saying that because you wanted to get stuck in quicksand…” She told Sakina. “Well, there’s the fact it’s nice and sunny.” Sakina said. “How true…” Munira dryly says. By now, Munira has 4 of the living quicksand tentacles on her, while Sakina had 2, going on 3. As the women sink deeper, tentacles continue to rise and drill into their flesh upon reaching a certain spot on their bodies, but always avoiding in between their legs.
“This feels so invasive…” Said Munira. “Be thankful…” Sakina moaned. “That they don’t get into the more forbidden areas…” Munira just nodded as more tentacles attached to her body. Both women reach their hips and the tentacles keep them there as the quicksand continued to swarm their bodies with the quicksand tentacles, all now in the shape in the arms of an octopus. Finally, 10 tentacles stuck to them, wrapped around various parts of their bodies.
What came next, Sakina knew. She, along with Munira, gasped out as something slipped into their bodies. Or more accurately: Their bloodstream. “What’s this…?” Munira asked. “It’s flooding our bodies…” Sakina moaned. “It’s not negative to our well-being, but it feels so good…” The tentacles kept pumping the goop into the women, as if to make them submit to the quicksand as it pulled them down more into its depths, but it faced no resistance.
Indeed, Munira and Sakina had much trekking across the jungle done and were quite tired by this point. So they let the quicksand take its time with them as they were filled with the stuff steadily. Even so, the two would wind up as mud dolls once they were asleep and under. Yet, they did not wish for this to happen to them today, but accepted the quicksand being pumped into them. The quicksand seemed to respect their wish to not be mud dolls upon going under.
It was a mystery as to why quicksand, when it’s under living condition, respected the wishes of those within not only its sinking grasp, but also the grasp of its tentacles during a sink. More studies were proposed to dig further into how the quicksand comes to have this effect, why it molests its victims in this manner, and why the victim ends up cocooned. Yet even with study, very little was answered on the phenomenon. Yet for Sakina, it didn’t matter in the least.
She loved the phenomenon dearly and hoped it never ceased happening. Munira had mixed feelings of it though, but she nonetheless loved it as well, but not as much as her immense mud-loving sister. They were soon chest deep, and halfway asleep. “Doesn’t it feel good, sister…?” Sakina asked Munira. “It… does…” Munira answered. The quicksand was relentless though, but it remained gentle as its tentacles continued their work on the ½ mermaid twins.
The tentacles on their necks soon moved to caress their breasts to lull the two into a deep sleep as they would soon be under the quicksand’s surface. As their breasts were gently fondled, Sakina was the first to fall into a deep-sated sleep with her elder twin sister Munira following shortly. Their bloodstream now packed with the very quicksand consuming them, their fate was momentarily sealed. Their breasts were pulled under, followed by their shoulders and neck.
Before their heads disappeared, and the cocooning was set to begin, the tentacles of the quicksand peered into their heads, seeking to find any desires. Yet all the two desired was to slumber for the time being, of which the two were soon fully sunk beneath the quicksand, encased within special cocoons that would insure a restful sleep without being disturbed. …Not that it was possible to disturb the two right now anyway…
While cocooned and asleep, the two had dreams invoked to make their rest even more pleasant. As they slept, their dreams were refined. For Munira, she dreamed of being the star dancer of Olympia, always adored by those who came to see her dance. For Sakina, she dreamed of being a well-renowned earth bender who specialized not in just the solid earth, but the quicksand itself as well. To make it even better: She was also in control of those sinking.
“I am your master…” Sakina said in her sleep. “You will sink for me… I want you to be nice and muddied…” It wasn’t known who she was talking to in her dream, but it’s clear she was having a good one regardless. As for Munira, she shook and wiggled her hips and butt while dreaming she was on stage, admired by a good deal of fans. It didn’t even matter to her if her butt was seen. Her dances were very popular to her fans. “You’re too kind…” She said quietly.
Deep down however, these two knew one thing: As long as they’re cocooned, they were one with the quicksand. Locked away safely beneath the gooey surface, caressed gently by the quicksand itself, their bodies were part of the pit that had come to life to sink them below. No one knew why this occurs as well, but it is a mystery still being studied to this day, as was the many others surrounding the living quicksand of Olympia.
After a long rest, the quicksand released Munira and Sakina, coated in the goop itself, but nonetheless alive and well. It took some effort, but the two clawed their way out of the pit, shaking themselves lightly upon exiting. Munira shook the most, getting a good 95% of the quicksand off her. Sakina however… Only 15% of it. “Wasn’t that just the best, dear sister…?” Sakina asked Munira. “I admit it was,” Answered Munira. “Not entirely crazy about it though…”
“Come on now,” Sakina says. “Surely that isn’t how you truly feel.” Munira shakes her head. “I enjoy it.” Munira says. “But not to the same obsessive extent as you do.” “Fair enough.” Sakina replied. “Now, shall we resume amber collecting?” She asks. Munira responds with a nod. The twins return to their hunt for amber. “You are going to clean up before we go home, right?” Munira asks Sakina. “Yes, I am.” Sakina answered. “Good.” Said Munira.
As the two searched for amber across the jungle, a sense of wanting to be within living quicksand again swelled within them. However, that would need to wait until next time as the two still had to return home, and they wouldn’t know where the next living quicksand pit will appear. However, when they do learn of the next time it appears, they will be there, and perhaps with some of their siblings as well.

Not bad, but it would help if you had a physical description of the two ladies, which I did not see...

A physical description? Well, I still have their written refs if that's what you're implying.

This was good a good concept, but it's execution could be a little bit better. Not to say it was a bad story, it's definitely 6-7/10, but with more writing, it can get even better. Just remember to write down details and such, and you'll do fine.
