Wow I had no idea my thread was getting much attention! Thank you all for contributing. (forgot to turn on notifications)

Sadly I do not have a bike, nor the funding to possess one at the moment.

I'm in the deep woods of Olympia, by Black Lake. The closest mud I've found was some river stuff a quarter foot deep in the Darlin Park reserve (take a look at that on google maps and you'll see how remote this place is), but I don't want to really be trespassing in there, plus the whole "you need to walk through a neighborhood to access it" factor.

I would LOVE to make friends with other mud sinkers...but there are none in my area. I've been on several sites, but it feels like I'm the only sinker in the village, and trust me I've thrown a huge net to try and find people, I'm on every site I can think of. If there's a mud social website list I'd love to see it.

With reference to the part of your message asking about social media sites, it is not very active but there is a quicksand-related group called "deep sinking" [no known relation to a past forum] on Fetlife.
