Re: Escape Room 2
I thought dry quicksand was forgotten about since most quicksand seen is usually gooey & gloppy; slimy & sloppy. But I digress. Decent sink, but dry quicksand just doesn't turn me on all that much.

Looks interesting! From what I could tell in the trailer, it looks like there could possibly be more than the one girl ending up in it.
Quicksand might not be as common a trope as it used to be, but it's nice to know it's still out there every now and then.
Thanks for the heads-up!

This will probably go direct to video very quickly so we'll be watching.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

Dry quicksand could spawn a (re)new genre in horror, since with dry quicksand, there’s a distinct possibility that our helpless damsel could be swallowed alive, and her rescuers would have to work fast. (“In a world...where the ground burps...and people disappear.”).

Somebody’s been watching The Princess Bride.

Yep, good observation.
I would have picked up on that except for all of the sand (literally) flying around. The way things were going there for a while, nobody would have tried that scene without a respirator and goggles (and knee and elbow pads etc. ad nausea).
The Wizard of Ooze stays behind the curtain!

It's like this scene but with the air compressors on steroids.

Oddly sometimes the bubbling sand looks CGI especially when the woman goes under, and being Hollywood I wouldn't be surprised. Only in Hollywood would they waste money on computer graphics instead of just filming someone actually sinking under fake quicksand despite decades of quicksand scenes in movies
